Web- & Graphic Design

About

Hi, I’m Jana Eger, 32-years old and currently living & designing in Berlin. I’ve been working as a freelance graphic designer since 2012. Before that I worked in a design studio with mostly print projects. Since then, I’ve come a long way and evolved my style and my knowledge in classic print but also in digital projects. My clean outline based icons can be used in broschures, infographics and as a add-on, icon-font, in mobile applications.

How I work (with you)

Every project is unique. This is a guideline of the working relationship with me.

  • 1. Meet&Greet/Analysis

Before the projects starts, I’d like to know your company’s wishes, vision and values. Do you have a clear idea in mind already or do you need more consultation?
  • 2. Research/Concept

I start the project by collecting all data necessary and begin working the concept. To exclude ideas, I’ll have a look at your competitors.
  • 3. Scribbles/Exploring

Next in line is scribbling of solutions, creating the design grid und testing of layout approaches. Broad infographics need a good communication at that point – so that illustrations and content fit perfectly.
  • 4. Layout/Final Artwork

Work out and finalise layout, determine elements and grid, etc. I work precisely and with an eye for detail on every project. The project is not over until everyone is happy.
  • 5.a Development/Online

If the project is a website, I’ll hand over the final artwork to your developer. You don’t have one? No problem, if you like have a look the profile of Dennis Münchow. We’ve been working together for years.
  • 5.b Managing Production/Proof

I’ll be happy to find a matching manufacturer and on request I’ll manage print production and if needed I’ll handle the proof process as well.
This is my workstation – if the project requires me to be at your office, drop me a line and I'll bring my laptop too.

Design is… when you say pink instead of magenta.

I am a freelance graphic designer and I work directly with companies/clients, develop projects with my network of other freelancers and agencies in greater Berlin. Design is not fixed on a location and so I have been working for clients out of town as well. If that’s the case, I usually communicate with these clients mostly over the phone or via email. In order to get to know each other, it can be helpful to meet in person. That I will do, if you have good coffee in your office.

My designs are a mixture between hard work, years of experience and a passion for aesthetics. My main focus is on web design, corporate design and the illustration of icons. My background is in print design, but I have been working for a few years as a web designer as well. That’s mainly because of my time as a intern in London and the collaboration in my co-working space. This add-on to my know-how gives me the ability to create well rounded projects – from the corporate design over the company website or even mobile applications.

I don’t strive „off-the-shelf-layouts“ or overused templates, but the design which fits precisely the client and his target group. Therefore I always welcome, the collections of all project related information before it actually starts. Thus I can base my concept and design on my clients tonality. There are mostly three types, the ones with a complete corporate design guide and an office equipment, the ones which have some kind of design guideline or maybe even a logo and the third ones, which just started their business and just decided on a company name. I don’t mind to work with No 1, 2 or 3 – I only need a different amount of information beforehand.

Design was and will always be the fuel that drive me, so if you are looking for freelance graphic designer, drop me a line (contact@jana-eger.com) or give a call +49 1 76 235 78448.
